Modern Day Carrie Bradshaw’s Iconic Bridal Style

Fashion Influencer Caroline Vazzana creates a perfect match, made in Manhattan

And just like that… weddings IRL have returned and the styles we are seeing from designers, both new and renowned, are traditionally unexpected. The runways shone with classic gowns that featured layers of sumptuous tulle, while traditional strapless dresses were remixed and constructed with unexpected embellishments and accessories. Perhaps the biggest takeaway? There is nothing more chic than modernity and individuality.

Cue fashion influencer, Caroline Vazzana's Great Gatsby meets Marie Antionette themed wedding day. Vazzana described her overall theme as “chic and elegant, with a bold twist”, which every part of the day was expertly curated to match. And, as the self proclaimed, “Modern Day Carrie Bradshaw”, the fashion had to not only wow, but turn heads.

First, for the night before the “I do’s”, the bride visited New York staple, designer Nicole Miller at her office to select her rehearsal dinner look. Selecting a long white gown, Vazzana expertly styled it with long silk gloves, Gucci kitten heels, a crystal choker and feathery bag also from Nicole Miller. I always tell people that I’ve never met a ballgown, feather or a sequin that I didn’t love and this look is the perfect blend of glamour, luxury and personal taste.

Talking about glamour, Celebrity Designer Christian Siriano, who worked with Vazzana for over a year, certainly brought enhancement and magic to create a one of a kind piece that could transform throughout the bride’s special day.

The final dress, an iconic tulle ball gown, was composed of 3 pieces, creating two looks for the day. One should never underestimate the power of a ball gown! The top, a white fitted bodice with a tulle overlay and large tulle sleeves that had small sequins going up toward the neck. The first skirt worn to the ceremony and the first half of the reception was a large tulle ball gown skirt with white floral appliques and small sequins that radiated down the top layer of tulle.

To infuse some of Vazzana's colourful style into the dress, some of the layers of tulle throughout the skirt were light pink. The Barbiecore trend which has infused into “Tullecore” has been welcomed by designers and brides alike this season. The second skirt was a shorter, all-white version of the first. This mini tulle skirt featured a floor-length white train which bustled, allowing the bride to dance the night away.

Dressing for your wedding day is the ultimate exercise in personal style and this was a perfect match, made in Manhattan.
